Seriously though, does anyone have a copy of the air to air shot they did when they had 8 Hawks with the codes C, H, I, V, E, N, O, R line-abreast?

Oh, and thank you, watson, for bringing my childhood flooding back - it was watching the Hawks, and the Hunters before them, buzzing around my house when I was a kid, that made me join up and have a very enjoyable 22 year career.....though never at Chivenor, ironically!

Watson's lovely images are before 151 sqn gained their white cross bars. 63 had moved from Brawdy and so had established markings.

Chivenor trip 31/07/81, day before Yeovilton open day, remainder of trip aborted for quick RTB to PIK, as 5 Moroccan F5s had turned up, on delivery!!
Info recv'd via the phonebox at the end of the runway at Fairford-no mobiles then.

Great Photos Of The Chiv Hawks Which Were From My Home Airfield. These Pictures Of The Bae Hawk Bring Back Such Wonderful Happy Memories To A Man In His Late Forties Know. I Have Know Nearly Finshed A Personal And Private Collection Of Photographic And Written Work On The History Of The Hawk At Chiv Involving All 4 Sqdrns From 1980 Until The Last 2 Aircraft To Depart In October 1995. Although I Am Currantly Missing Some Information On The Commanding Officers Of 63 Sqdrn For The Following Years 1982- 1983 1984- 1985 1985-1986 1986-1987 1987-1988 1988-1989 1989- 1990 1990-1991 Any Help With Either Supplying Or Finding The Names For These Years Would Be A Great Help And Very Much Appreciated In Helping Me Finish This Project Before The End Of This Year I Hope.

Hi Folks,

I don't know how I missed this thread first time around but a Google image search has brought me here after I took part in a similar topic on Pprune. I flew on the famous CHIVENOR formation, I am in the back seat of 'N' and the only one with a white helmet. As I said on Pprune we were all promised prints from the sortie but they never arrived.

This is from the practice day 15 June 82 (the flypast was the next day).



Forming-up above cloud, this is a colour photograph!



If anyone can let me have scans of the formation for my own use I would be very grateful.
