The Phantoms and Eagles were both on exchange with 11Sqn. The CF-188's were over for a week during a Mallet Blow or Priory exercise.

Remember it well TS010 - strong cross winds kept the Lightnings grounded for some sorties but the F15's kept up the sortie rate with long range air intercepts on several Pumas and Chinooks that had flown out of Binbrook earlier (and had tried to lose themselves low level in heavy traffic road patterns near the A1 !)
Wild gun camera videos for the debrief :Wow:
They were in on exchange with 11 from 1st -10th December 1986, the JG-74 were F-4F's were 11's guests from 10-19th March 1985
Hope you don't mind my few additions

No problem Keith. Great to see photos from Binbrook, just wished I'd taken more.
There was some pretty awful weather when the Germans visited as well. I was on crash crew and we got called out to an 11Sqn F6 that slid onto
the grass on the corner of the taxiway by MSF, in some very heavy rain. Four of the F-4's missed the ATC call to back track and taxied towards us,
Q me running up the taxiway waving my arms like a loony to turn them around on the disused dispersal before they got stranded.

Hey Guys,

Would you mind me putting a link from this thread to our RAF Binbrook website, as these type of photos would be awesome to have included on our aircraft pages.

Many thanks usafe (jerry).
