Thanks for sharing these, another selection from one of my favourite museums, such a shame I live over 300 miles away. The Lightning painted as XP748 is a former Saudi example, ZF583. The real XP748 became the gate guard at RAF Binbrook, after the base finally closed in 1988, it was removed to Pendine where it ended it's days as a target. Quoted as expiring in either 1997 or 2000, take your pick.

Mike, Thank you very much for posting the aircraft from the Solway Museum. I went to Schotland last week and made good use of your post. On my way from Newcastle to Prestwick and Lossiemouth I made a stop at the museum because your photos showed there were aircraft there I didn't see the last time I was there several years ago.

A lovely set and thanks for posting. Another museum I need to go back to after 36 years. Several of their frames are ones I have seen in service so feeling old yet again :lol:
