HMS Sultan 'The Elephants Graveyard'

HMS Sultan where Sea Kings go to die ..... attended the Gosport Heritage Event at HMS Sultan and managed to photograph a group of Sea Kings that had seen better days.

They were mostly indoors when I was there, still being stored/used for training
But having had a look, that was 15 years ago!!

So many times I've passed that base and seen whatever I could from the roadside wishing I could go in and explore

God that brings back some memories from when I worked the Buffers Party at Sultan nearly 10 year ago. remember seeing these being cleaned, practicing aircraft handling and the occasional ground run. and the eventual retirement of the sea king fleet. sad to see them like this.
