Lossie 78-79 Hawk's

With the introduction of the Hawk at Valley we got these in more often than when 4FTS were on Gnats.

I'm not going to annotate all the pics with their reggies as all the red and white Hawks of 4FTS were registered XX--- with the 3 number code on the nose and tail completing the reg.

The TWU Hawks followed a similar line with their aircraft initially, but at some point possibly in 1979, the TWU at Chivenor adopted their own system of tail codes and there are aircraft with the same reg but with different tail codes from the TWU in this set.

Interesting to see all these, various schemes too. Incredible to think that it's fifty years since the first flight and must have been the last successful British military export. Thanks for sharing these with us.

Gosh! To think I was working on some of these airframes (and flying in XX185!) some 30-40 years later !!! Great variety of photos, thanks for posting.
