Thanks for sharing these with us, very interesting to see them. I look forward to seeing it fully restored, but hope they don't leave it outside for years.

Going on the time they took to restore the Victor, which is now inside Airspace. I'd say this is following that trend....

I remember back in 2014 when I did work experience with the American Air Museum and happened to be working in the same hut as Duxford's aircraft curator at the time.
The big discussion at the time was whether to use their new lump of lottery money for the Victor or the Shackleton, obviously, the Victor won that one, but I am very happy to see XF708 getting its time in the workshop, it's been looking a little tired for a long time now.

It's been a long time since I've seen a Shackleton in bare metal. When I was 14, in 1968, my brother took me to an open day at Langar where Hawker Siddeley had a facility that was refurbishing Shackletons of various various marks. Sadly, I wasn't into logging aircraft serials then and cannot recall how many were on site. There was one complete airframe in the middle of the airfield (an MR2 if I recall properly as it had a tail wheel) and we were able to get inside a further example. Clambering over the main wing spar was "interesting". Great days!

Looking terrific - have they used the same laser stripping tech that was used on the Victor. They certainly seem to be cracking on with it either way!

Not sure, but there has certainly been a lot of good old fashioned elbow grease used.
