Bruntingthorpe - 23 March 2024

Following on from my recent Lightnings post, here are some images of the rest of the aircraft in the compound at Bruntingthorpe.

Very grateful for the opportunity to get in and snap them.

Cheers

All credit to the sterling effort put in by the volunteers at Brunty, the airframes certainly look well cared for - tip-top condition :thumb: I'm hoping against hope asking this
Is there any remote likelihood that we might ever get to see them charge down the runway again? Or is it definitely curtains (snowball in hell's chance :( )?
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

They are opening up for a day in April and will be running some of the engines. Not sure if they'll be able to taxi in the forseeable future. They look to be pinned into their compound with cars everywhere else, including the runway I assume.

Really nice to see the airframes in good condition but such a shame they're 'inprisoned' in a compound. Very sad demise of the airfield activities as it once was ☹️

Yes its such a shame after all the great events, and the funding to move and reconstruct the QRA sheds to be unable to use the runway is sad to say the least.
