Hill AFB Museum, Ogden, Utah
Following on from the Black Hills of South Dakota, the museum of Aerial Firefighting at Greybull and Yellowstone the next (planned and agreed with Mrs P.!) stop was the museum at Hill AFB.
The museum is adjacent to the base so Mrs P. got her input of fast jet action – lots of F-35As about (plus a KC-135 and two Mirage F.1s – DACT). They are in the process of adding another building – to double the inside display space – so a/c were being moved around and not in the usual display spaces. For example, if you check Google earth, the B-29 is now inside, the B-47 is “elsewhere” and, annoyingly for those who know my Phantom obsession, the RF-4C was out the back and I could not beg or bribe anyone for access.
This is the first set of photos (SLR and phone) from inside; outside to follow:

Interesting post. Their F-111E 68-0020, was the last F-111 to depart from Upper Heyford - Tuesday, 7th of December 1993.

My last visit to Hill was in 1993 and we were given an on base visit as well as a tour of Ogden ALC. I must find my photo's taken from the control tower balcony. Can't recall us visiting the museum. How long has it been open, please? Would love to re-visit if only to see that SR71 - what a cracking looking machine. Plus, of course, all those active F35's..........................

Stunning photo’s loved the Thuds whenever they were over. As for F4 not sure of that nose maybe it’s because I’ve never seen one so shiny. Oh and that 2seat Bird is something else.

Great pics  That's one hell of a building, accommodating all those 'frames with room to spare :Wow:
I'm afraid though that you didn't complete your mission: you'll have to go back to get the RF-4C
