Finningley Airshows Book now available

The Finningley Airshow book is now available but with so many of the initial print run pre-ordered only a few copies remain. If anyone would like to purchase I would advise putting in an order by messaging me PDQ. The cost is £20 (incl delivery) and the preferred payment method is by Bank Transfer, details of which will be provided when the order is received. Is it value for money? Well it runs to 74 pages and contains 380 pics, the majority of which are in colour. Is it essential reading? Hell Yeah!
If anyone misses out or prefers to look before buying a consignment has been ordered by The Aviation Bookshop who tell me that they'll be on sale @ Fairford. But get there early as I'm guessing there won't be many left by Saturday lunchtime.

Just a further update for anyone tempted to order a copy. After today's shipment there are literally just half a dozen copies of the 1st batch remaining unsold. So don't hang about making an order as they're going fast!

Mick, many thanks for the book which arrived well packed and promptly yesterday.
A fascinating read and brings back many memories as I attended every show from 1975 until the end.
A couple of additional snippets. I recall seeing Sally B at the show in 1975, still unpainted with a blue stripe on the tail and no top turret. Maybe her first UK airshow appearance?
Regarding the picture of XV489 on page 30, not only the cockpit survives as I have her serial number on a panel clearly chain sawed out of the fuselage in my garage.
Thanks again.

Interesting Ian. That pic of XV489 is one of mine so I could send you it if you like.
Re - Sally B, I doubt it was her UK airshow debut as I saw her @ Coningsby's Open Day earlier that summer. Shame she has now been grounded, along with all the other airworthy B17s. Just hoping we'll see her in the air again before too long!

Be grateful if you email a copy. Sally B was in the air last Friday before the Duxford show.
All the best
