Interesting to see these, didn't realise they're still there. As to what happens to them, as they're privately owned, who knows. The RAF Museum won't take them, they already have a Buccaneer at Hendon, which was displayed at Cosford until about twenty years ago. Their Phantom is also at Hendon, having been delivered there back in 1992 after retirement. In general for some time, they've tried not to duplicate types, hence the sell off of many types in the 1980s. These days they seem more intent on moving aircraft between the two locations for periods of display, so maybe they will appear at Cosford at some time. It could be that one of the independent museums might take one or more of these ones at Scampton if offered, but undercover display space is at a premium nowadays. Type relevance also comes into it, not so much, nice to have types. Things are a lot different now than they used to be, harking back to the 1970s when there were F-100s, T-33s and Mysteres at Sculthorpe and they were available to go on loan to museum's, but were on the books of the USAF Museum. Lots of organisations snapped them up, as they'd got three ready to display aircraft. Just look how many of those are left now, some have been returned to the US, but some have been scrapped in the past few years. It might surprise some to learn that Hunter XF382 at the Midland Aircraft Museum at Baginton us on loan from the USAF Museum, so technically they could claim it back if they wanted. It was funded under the MDAP system by the Americans when it was built, along with many others.
