Yeovilton 1984 Part 2
Yeovilton 1984 Part 2
It has been a while so I thought I'd post a few more. The Phantoms, Vulcan, VC10K and F-104G were all noted on the 12th September, not an Air Day, just a regular day with the VC-10 supporting the F-4s who were working with D-school. The Vulcan was visiting for a display somewhere. The Hunter was the last GA.11 to come back from St Athan in the old two tone grey and white scheme. Both Harrier T4Ns were lost in tragic accidents, ZB606 just months after the shot was taken in poor weather just north of Yeovilton. Apologies for the quality, but shot on 100ASA print film.

What a base that was. Wish I'd got there more often!

Great set there
Nice to see 426, before 558 took over the reins
That pairs toom takeoff must have sounded nice
Thanks for posting

Fantastic set of images.
My joy for aviation as unfortunately come too late as I used to live in Yeovil so had this on my doorstep pretty much before I moved away to Berkshire.
Do they still have the Fleet Air Arm museum on site? I remember we went there once on a school trip

Yes, the FAAM is still open - though you may have to book your tickets in advance. Certainly had to last year when I last visited.Matt_Rowley wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:48 amFantastic set of images.
