Re: Once in the west, lot-4 10/92 Castle AFB Museum.
As Paddyboy will no doubt agree, these posts from you have brought back wonderful memories from a past that was very exciting Aviation wise. I was lucky enough to do quite a bit myself in the States, but used a video camera. I am approaching 80 years old in a couple of months, most of my Aviation friends are now in the big airfield in the sky, and I have cleared out all my museum DVD's etc., as there is nobody left to share them with, but these pictures of yours bring back the delights of those far off times. I was lucky enough to have seen a B.45 Tornado fly!.Thankyou so much, Gordon, and kind regards from John.

John, we are VERY close in age, I will be 83 in September. Not as mobile as I once was, (Rugby, rowing, squash till I was in my 60's). I managed regular trips to the USA with my mates, until the years of Covid lock down and I thought I have probably done enough. I am glad to bring back some of your memories, I certainly am enjoying sharing my shots and, if it brings pleasure to others, so much the better. Regards, Gordon

20 years of dancing has kept me fit and well. Our daughters were competitive swimmers, and I kept that up myself until 70.

Thanks for sharing these, some great shots and nice to see the B-45 as never seen one in the flesh. And reading some of the comments, well done for keeping your interest up. I've got loads of aviation related stuff and a few years ago, my wife said to me 'I don't know what I'm going to do with all your stuff, when you're gone'. I was a bit concerned by this comment, especially as she seemed to have decided that I was going first! I shall keep going for as long as possible!
Re: Once in the west, lot-4 10/92 Castle AFB Museum.
Mustang531 my wife has said the same thing to me on several occasions! Aviation related books are not too much of a problem as I expect some dealer COULD take the lot. Negatives, photographs and slides are possibly more of a problem. In the interim I intend to "keep on trucking" Regards, Gordon.

Thanks for sharing the Castle shots that bring back many memories of USA trips. Looks like they have decommissioned one of the few B36s left. Well done to the aviation “grey nomads “ still keeping active, I might have another pond trip left in me!
Thanks again, Ewddie

Raptor9, I also saw the B-36 only once in the UK. Leaving school one afternoon up in Aberdeen, we all felt this very strange vibration in the body. Looking up into a (in Aberdeen?) clear blue sky there was a flight of three great crosses in the sky followed by another three. They were, of course, B-36s heading north. There were also, somewhat higher, B-47
flights. Never saw the likes again. Regards, Gordon
