Some old F-111's at Nellis

Post by Keflavik69 » Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:58 am

Just as a change from the old black and white stuff I thought it would be nice to share as well my first few F-111's I photographed at Nellis in May 1975. The situation then was completely different from the situation now where the spot you could photograph landing aircraft wasn't develloped yet and accessible from Las Vegas Boulevard. Unfortunately one needed there a telephotolens much bigger than I had at that time. I hope they are of interest to you.

Lovely Arnold, it used to be great to go out into the desert end and shoot either runway. Happy days, I have some t share later. Regards, Gordon.

Thank you Dragonchaser and Gordon for your kind remarks. The seventies were really happy days. But like Graf Zeppelin wrote some time ago, we were not aware how lucky we were those days. It was all normal then and only because wifes, work, transportation, money and illness didn't stop us exercising our hobby we now look back on wonderful memories. But to use a Dutch expression when memory is fading: 'luckily we still have the pictures'.
Best regards, Arnold

Top pics Arnold, even without the 'much bigger telephoto lens'. Superb, more please!
