St Mawgan IAD 1992

Post by TimFoo » Thu May 05, 2022 6:53 am

Weather OK for arrival day. Awful for the show itself. French Mirages were nice and F-15E's were (and still are...) a rarity down this way. Also featured the last ever St Mawgan Phantom display

Thanks for sharing these, I do remember it was a bit damp on the show day. But there were some interesting types on show that day.

Another superb selection there, Tim

Those Lakenheath ‘Mudhens’ would have been almost brand new, and the 74 Squadron F4J(UK)’s we’re about to come out of service ;)

Thanks for posting :thumb:

74 Sqn F4J's were already in the bin Paddy, those are FGR2's and went the same way later that year....got some 111 Sqn FG1's in the Wattisham dump somewhere so will put them up. Hopefully Elton John will see them and write a tribute record, I reckon Rhino's in the Bin would scan....

Another good set and you saved the best until last. Nothing beats a Toom lift-off in full burner!
