Now entering the final week of the "Five a day" series. Intention was to try and brighten up the long winter and Covid evenings just a little. Now that the worst of both is hopefully behind us these posts will finish at the end of this week before the clocks change. Will be a bit of a "Navy" themed week as these are usually quite popular so I hope you enjoy. A mixed bag today as, sadly, I don't have many shots of these types.

Nice selection, Alan. Always liked the Viking, and that A-3 parked on Alpha certainly dwarfs those Jags!

Another excellent post, always loved the A3’s.

Excellent selection of shots which bring back some memories. The Skywarrior at Greenham must be 1976, as that's the only time I remember seeing one there. The Australians the following year were something special, when their carrier was over visiting in connection with the Queen's Silver Jubilee celebrations. Apart from the trio of A-4s, the S-2 and Sea King were also considered exotic visitors. Thanks for sharing these.

Fantastic selection once again thanks for posting this very enjoyable series.

Brilliant Alan, i remember that Skywarrior very well, managed to get that one and another departing, i think they were involved in the return of the F-5s from Alconbury to the states. The A-4s and S-3s always great to see them.

Another great post - really enjoying these trips down memory lane. As Mustang531 correctly states the Skywarrior is at Greenham in 1976 and the IAT never managed to get another one to participate there again. This was 144852/18, an EA-3B from VQ-2 based at Rota. Greenham happened to be the first base where I saw a Skywarrior land - back in it's B-47 days on the 1st Aug'63. This was another VQ-2 EA-3B - 146454, which the IAT would later get for the static at the 1991 Fairford show, shortly before the airframe was retired.

Cracking selection Alan. I certainly didn't see or photograph enough Skywarriors when they were around although the ones I got at Point Mugu in 1982 made up a little bit for the local ones I missed.

Wow, what a fantastic set of pictures these have been. It will be a shame to see them end - I have looked forward to each one in the series being posted.
