In the year of Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, here is a look back to how the RAF celebrated her Silver Jubilee in 1977. Nearly every squadron from the RAF was represented apart from 51 Squadron(camera shy):

Fantastic shots of a once-in-a-lifetime event. V bombers and iconic fast-jet combinations - what more could you want? An event I would have loved to have attended. Thanks for posting.

Brilliant pictures,

. I'm sure I can remember some if the formation flying high over Grimsby either on the day or practicing for the day in question..... I was only 6 but remember being in the garden with my dad when they flew over in gorgeous weather.
As I said, brilliant pics and a nice memory jerker.
Cheers Glenn

V. nice set of high quality images. That was the 1st time any of us ever witnessed the Aussie F-111's 'Torching' routine of which I have a b+w print if anyone's interested. As I recall another absentee was 28 Sqn. - then based in Hong Kong altho we did have Kiwi Herc, Cannuck CF-104 as well as F-111 to compensate.
