US ARMY U21s today. Reasonably frequent transit visitors through Lossie back in the 70s, and some of the variants were quite colourful at that time. Not seen at Lossie in many years now to my knowledge, with their successors seeming to prefer transits through Prestwick nowadays.

Thanks for sharing these, another once fairly common sight. Nice to see variations of schemes, especially the last one.

Another good post, Alan. Brings back memories of more aircraft I didn't get the opportunity to photograph! The scheme on that last one is indeed nice.

Used to get these regularly through Northolt, got a photo of 18031 on the ODV line 5.

Great set Alan, you certainly managed to catch a few in different schemes.

Another fabulous collection, these were indeed a regular sight, taken over by C12’s in more modern times.

Some nice colour schemes there Alan. On the 31st July 1973 we got 3 RU-21s at Kinloss with a very a odd looking antenna arrangement on the wings. My shots didn't come out but maybe yours did?

Hi Jabba. Unfortunately I can't recall those and certainly have no photos I'm afraid (maybe no camera or film that day).

RU-21C 67-18089 arrived at the 'Hall with five others from Keflavik on October 4th 1975 en route to Stuttgart as part of the giant annual 'REFORGER' exercise to Germany. It was fitted with the 'CEFIRM LEADER' ECM/jamming system as was its sister ship 67-18085. Of the others, RU-21Bs 67-18077 and 67-18087 were fitted with surveillance and intercept radar while RU-21As 67-18114 and 67-18115 carried direction finding sensors in wing tip tanks. Known as the 'Crazy Cats' (from Vietnam days with Neptunes) they were assigned to the 1st Army Security Aviation Company at Fort Bliss, TX. It was a very busy day at the 'Hall and while I was over on the south side of the field chasing other things I did not notice that they were all taxying out. I managed to break the law in time to catch only 18089 but from my slide it looks the same as in your post. They returned about a month later but I missed them.
