Pate Museum of Transport - Cresson, TX

Post by johnwickenden » Sat Apr 10, 2021 8:22 pm

Located alongside Hwy 377 about 10 miles SW of Fort Worth was this privately owned (and free to enter) museum, owned and run by the Pate Family. It was the home to tens of motor vehicles (including the taxi that Lee Harvey Oswald is rumoured to have hailed to escape after JFKs assassination), buses, trucks and even boats. The collection also included about a dozen aircraft exhibits at the time of my visit in May 2005.
The aircraft were disposed of in the years that followed and the museum finally closed its doors in 2009. Many of the jets from the collection ended up in the Museum at Tyler in Eastern Texas.

Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?

Great selection John. Just one slight correction - the Huskie is 58-1841 clearly a typo but you might want to change it for accuracy :thumb:
