Time didn't allow me to go inside but two rare nice exhibits are outside...A rare Convair Sea Dart and A-12 Blackbird....

I visited this museum back in 1994 and these two were outside then. Impressive to see an A-12 on a pole. Inside I seem to remember being a bit cluttered, but some interesting machines of all types on show.
We were taken down to the basement to see the restoration projects. This included a Ford Trimotor and when the guide asked if there was any questions, one individual asked if they were going to remove the wings to get it out of the side door. They walk amongst us!

Nice shots Kev.

Been there a few times, always seems to be a must when down that way when visiting NAS North Island, Imperial Beach, CGAS San Diego and of course the bar where the original Top Gun scene was filmed.

If you drive on over to the California Science Center they have the only Lockheed TA-12 trainer in existence, in bare metal Mmmmm! Inside worth visiting Space Shuttle Endeavour.

I visited in 1986 and the only exhibit I can remember, and have pictures of, is the Sea Dart. It's weird, I just can not remember anything else about the place. Mind you, the Sea Dart alone was worth the visit!

As Stewart says, the Kansas City Barbeque has to be visited in order to see where that scene was filmed. Don't eat there though. We did last year. Worst meal we've had in many a year. Big mistake.

It’s not what you look at that matters. It’s what you see.
