Out of curiousity was this held around the same time as IAT 1991 at nearby Fairford as most of the Aircraft look familiar?

Hi
No this was held on the 7th September 1991 which was the same weekend as the Upper Heyford show and why some of the aircraft including the two blue F4s ,the Buccaneer and the 45Sqn Tornado departed after the event and flew over to Heyford for their show on Sunday 8th September.

PaulK beat me to it. These four events were unrelated to Fairford.
The wet and overcast one was the first on 6th October 1990. Next was 7th September 1991. They brought the next one forward to 5th June in 1993.
Final event was 6th May 2000. Well done to organisers at Brize. I am sure the proceeds went to RAF charities.
Thanks all, for your appreciation.
Pete.

London eye. Thanks for your appreciation of the Brize Photo Days. I only know about the dates etc because the original idea for the events was mine born out of a desire to get as many of the anniversary aircraft that had been painted in 1990 in one place for enthusiasts to photograph them of which I was one. We managed it pretty much apart from the 18 Sqn Chinook which had maintenance issues after the American one crashed in Germany with the parachutists and was found to be caused by badly made gearboxes.
The original intention was for 1990 to be a one off event but the Station Commander thought it was a good idea and so subsequent events took place. The 2000 event was the last and would have been my last anyway as I retired from the airforce the following year. I do however still work at Brize as a civilian contractor and was involved in the photo shoot for the painted C130s and the night shoot. The money raised from the photocalls did go to RAF charities apart from the 2000 event where I believe we split it and some went to a local hospice.
