Manston Airshow 1990

Post by papadolmio » Wed Oct 28, 2020 7:37 am

A few from the one and only time I attended this show. Aside from the fact that it was blooming hot and really busy with punters I don't recall it bringing up anything particularly memorable. However looking back.....

I attended this show as well and yes it was hot. The traffic jams were horrendous as well. But it was popular because down at the far end of Kent, you're a long way from the areas which hosted other shows. On some normal days it could attract some interesting visitors, especially in the days of the big Air Defence exercises.

Lovely studies of RAF Leeming's 75th Ann. pair of F3s. Also the F-4.

Great set, funny as you say how what may have not seemed particularly noteworthy at the time now looks exceptional :)

Me & Missus P got caught in the traffic for this one, in the end it just got ridiculous so we peeled off and ended up in Margate. Actually saw quite a lot of the participants from a pub balcony, the Shackelton and PR9 Canberra gave us a good fly bys.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
