Odds and Ends

Post by Gruncle 01 » Wed Oct 21, 2020 7:06 pm

These are a few pictures scanned from slides of aircraft I took in the decade between 1973 and 1983. They are a very mixed batch as I did not have many from each location to post seperate topics. Hope they are okay.

I suppose this one could be under the worst shots topic, but I personally still like it even as it is.

Doug Arnold purchased many ex. Spanish aircraft over the 70's and between 1978 and 1979 I logged at least 10 C47s of which this is one that I photographed.

Next few are from the scrapyard at Failsworth. Wish I had taken more now.

My dad used to tell me of a scrapyard full of aircraft around there. I ended up thinking he was getting his info mixed up, but perhaps not.

Both the Brigand and Swift went to Usworth with the former now at Cosford and the latter at Brooklands.

Cracking set of types.

Interesting [possibly] re the Strathallen Comet is that it knocked off it's port main undercarriage leg on the boundary bank whilst landing.Keep these coming please.

I was probably at those Biggin Hill displays. What's the story with the Bassetts at Biggin?

The Bassets were sold off and ended up on the US civil register I believe.
