International Air Tattoo 1987 - A couple more added

Post by Knife 04 » Sat Jul 18, 2020 4:12 pm

Since, unfortunately, RIAT has been cancelled this year, I thought I would delve into the past and post some pictures from an old one - selected at random 1987 (33 years ago :O :O )

A great show that year although the weather was bad (at time really bad). Can remember standing shoulder to shoulder with the water rising around my boots in the marquee in the FIAT enclosure as nobody was outside

A few of the ones I have completed to date - all scanned from negs so please forgive the quality

I can well remember that show. Spent a long time with an antipodean. Got a glimpse of the last a/c as it landed, could see the nose - but the rest was a sea of spray. I though i was p****d.

Looks like you needed a wet suit. Which day were these taken on? We went on the Sat. and altho' it was dull all day I don't recall it being as bad as this. Fabulous set esp #7 showing that dirty KC135.

Agreeing with Imac re the shots -I think sometimes, the 'air' after a shower is good for photographs - no dust or smoke floating around

EDI Spotter since 1958 (When it was RAF Turnhouse)
