More Memorable Air Fete Displays

Post by F3 » Wed Jul 15, 2020 8:15 pm

Continuing the quest for the most memorable Air Fete displays (discounting flypasts and role demos) here is a batch of contenders from the archives. Do you think any of them deserve to make a Top 10 with the likes of the '86 SR-71 'fireball' display or that hairy B-52 take-off in '90. Speaking of which pl can anyone pl enlighten me as to the Sqn. it was from as not mentioned in any of the reviews I possess.

I have ‘Swashbuckler’ being from the 69th BS, 42nd BW Loring AFB Mike

In my opinion the F-27 Troopship in ‘83 and ‘Vikings’ in ‘85 were good displays but the others in your post were pretty much as you say flybys / standard displays for example the B-2 - great to see but basically flybys and the Thunderbirds in 1984 were a standard show (Similar to 98?)

The MAFFS C-130 in ‘87 was a bit different
