This amazing place always put on good shows - no Jet Trucks, smoky plastic aerobats or bouncy castles. Formula was always to open with a mass flypast (no prize for spotting the Rhinos) and end with a taxi down the flightline by the participants. Big static - here are a few from the 80s The losers were cancelled for political reasons despite outstanding test results. The testers were from all three branches and NASA although the Navy relied principally on Pax River and China Lake
