Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green is a local (ish) airfield to me, these were taken with my 1st camera, a "110" for those that remember,

Oh wow..I remember going to that show and have the programme somewhere. How they managed to get Wilf Hardy to do the cover art though for such a small event? The finale was great though. thanks for sharing
Re: Halfpenny Green Airshow 1983
IIRC There was hardly anyone there, probably 1000? I'm sure I've seen the WH artwork on another programme, possibly Alconbury, Lakenheath, Brize with a slightly larger image, I think this has been cropped from that

Ah ok that makes sense. Used to love his artwork, sort of made any airshow complete coming away with one of 'his' programmes. I do remember the rain though and sitting in my dad's car for most of the display!

Hi Rob
It was and is often the case that the smaller shows were more enjoyable, imho

Agree, the larger the show, greater expectations, smaller the show, less expectations
Wilf Hardy, yes can remember disappointment when the cover wasnt his.
Forgot about the rain, we stood on one of those car sales caravans steps
