My very first week as a spotter at St Mawgan in 1981 and we had some Canadian starfighters in for the week.

Now this was when being a 'spotter' was really exciting! The F-104: my first true love, my second mistress, the F-4, coming along later. Oh how I miss them both (don't tell the wife) :'(
Brilliant, brilliant post, thanks for sharing!

Interesting to see an 'RAF' roundel on an F104!

It's not clear in the photo's but it's a maple leaf in the roundel but granted they look very similar!

Was the first shot taken on 25th Feb 1981. If so I have a picture of the twin seater taxiing past the “old” civil terminal which I just scanned last weekend from my original photo. We probably spent some time together at St Mawgan during the 80’s. Great pictures in your recent posts by the way and I love that first Starfighter shot, it really took me back to my teenage years😊

I can't remember the month to be honest and the diary / log has since been lost but it was definitely 1981, we probably crossed paths if we didn't know each other. I'll PM you.
