Louisiana ANG @ Lossiemouth
Louisiana ANG @ Lossiemouth
Seen in the good old days of Elder Forest exercises were a couple of flights of early production F-15A/B from the 159TFW/122TFS.They had arrived at NAS Keflavik a few days earlier as Coronet Mesa deployment and operated from there during the exercise with a refuelling stop at Lossiemouth each day.The log book says the following were seen on 26 April 1990.

Re: Louisiana ANG @ Lossiemouth
Did the early F-15’s have a different style of dorsal air brake, as some of the a/c in the pictures appear to have a humpback appearance?
Of note it was 3 days later that Shackleton WR965 crashed on Harris, I wonder if it was one of those seen in the background of these pictures?

Great set. Duxford's F15 is ex - Louisiana ANG. Wonder if it is one of these?

Lovely set
Wish I was more in the 'know' in those days as they would have been worth a visit.
Seen 085 preserved at Warner Robins and 095 but don't know where without going through my books

A very nice set indeed, I think you possibly saw 095 at Spangdahlem (if you've ever been there) as it was used there for battle damage repair until it was later dumped.
I was at Lossiemouth on Wednesday 25/04/90 and noted the following Louisiana ANG F15As :- 73-0085, 73-0093, 73-0094, 73-0095, 73-0101, 73-0104, 73-0107 & 73-0110 (F15B).
Another visit on Friday 27/04/90 produced the following F15As :- 73-0093, 73-0094, 73-0095, 73-0096, 73-0100, 73-0101, 73-0104, 73-0107, 73-0110 (F15B), 74-0117, & 74-0125.
Great shots and thanks for posting them.
Edit FAO F3 :- The F15 at Duxford is 76-0020, so not one of these.

Re: Louisiana ANG @ Lossiemouth
Great post this, it appears a lot of this batch went to Israel, not sure they are still used though.
