Mildenhall Show 1972
Mildenhall Show 1972
I think I mentioned elsewhere that I had discovered I had been remiss and seem to have missed out scanning ANY negatives in 1971-1973, certainly most of them
So, catching up slightly – The Air Show on 14th Oct 1972 – where attitudes were a bit more carefree, but it meant getting photos without people in them was almost impossible!

Think that's the 1st. pic of a Kaman Huskie (not y?) I've seen posted. Real Heath Robinson job if I ever saw one.
Re: Mildenhall Show 1972
I actually started with Husky until I checked!
I was going to say that it was probably my only pic of a USAF one, but there is one in Pima,

Re: Mildenhall Show 1972
My first ever Mildenhall show, on a SCAN bus.
Got pictures of the G91 and the Huskie published in a LAAS magazine shortly afterwards. First time in all these years I've admitted that!!!

Re: Mildenhall Show 1972
Being on a SCAN bus or getting pix published in LAAS?
P.S. I was on a SCAN bus as well. (I nearly said 'the' but remembered that we ran them from Glasgow AND Edinburgh in those heady days.)

Re: Mildenhall Show 1972
Thanks for a blast from the past, nice to see them. I like the HH-43 too, not many about but at least the Midland Aircraft Museum at Baginton have got one. That's a museum I've not been to for nearly thirty years, so long overdue.

Thanks,I went but only 8 so remember little so good to see these
Re: Mildenhall Show 1972
Great historic set that predate the 76 Bicentennial show which is commonly regarded as the beginning of Air Fete. Love the leaky Toom. Should say I'm surprised there was nt a No Smoking sign put up but then again having seen pics from the above event with overflowing rubbish bins right next to the flightline and cans etc rolling around I honestly can't.

What a great post! It’s so nice to see photos from early air shows.
Re: Mildenhall Show 1972
Superb set ! Great to see a shot of C-117D 17171 in tact ! I saw it a couple of years a go looking rather worse for wear on a beach in Iceland .
Re: Mildenhall Show 1972
Lovely post. The Kaman Huskie brings back memories of my first ever show as a young lad as it was present at the Woodford show in 1972. At the time I didn't have a clue what it was. Mum and dad taking me to that show started my life long love of aviation.
