The actual Celebration Day produced one of the best Static displays ever seen in N.Yorks with an unsurpassed line - up of training aircraft plus Warbirds such as the locally based Spitfire & Hurricane of the Real Aeroplane Co. Some of the foreign visitors had attended the previous w/end's RIAT incl. the Belgian Alpha Jet, Slovenian Bell 412 and one of the Italian MB339s which was displaying a sticker to prove it. The flying was limited to a drop by the Falcons and 21 Tucanos in 80 formation.

Now that is a fantastic static line up of aircraft, I would have loved to have been able to walk around that with a camera,
many thanks for posting these,

Hi Michael,Great post
I've always enjoyed trips to LoO back from the days when 20+ JP's would be on the line.
It would be nice if they could have a 'trainer' meet before the final shutdown of the Tucano and the station - I'm sure the Dutch, Belgians and French (and more) could 'organise' a long range nav-ex as part of their student courses to attend.

Often not much of a fan of the nightfighter schemes, but that Hurricane looks great!

I remember driving up for this event and enjoying it immensely. A great selection of interesting aircraft, under a blue sky. We made the most of it and visited various other airfields and museums afterwards (e.g. Elvington).
