USS Intrepid Museum New York

Hello all,
Just over a month ago, we were in a position where we had just paid off our mortgage shortfall, consolidated other debt then finally decided we needed to celebrate our 25th anniversary with what savings remained. Understanding wife turned around and mentioned i had THAT BA Concorde outstanding and that she wanted to visit New York anyway, so next day it was booked!
So it wasn't a cloud hanging over the week
i insisted we got a visit to USS Intrepid and the Concorde out of the way on the first day. We did though take advantage of a combo deal with a boat trip around Manhattan Island first, then all afternoon on Intrepid. Some of these are phone pictures as i thought i had broke my bridge camera, but that turned out to be the sunglasses!

Plus poor photo of a wee bonus while indulging the dark side of our hobby 2 days later.

If you have got this far, i have to say i was a tad disappointed! It is a wonderful place to visit and should be on everybodys itinerary , but seems to suffer from what has been taken away than what is there. Would have preferred to see an Etandard IVM rather than an MB.339, or the Scimitar rather than the NASA T-38, or even more USN types that are missing from here. Even having Concorde, the shuttle and exhibition for me takes something away from the feel of the place.
Arabest,
Geoff.
