IAT 1987 (Update 14/06/19)

Post by Buccs2b » Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:28 pm

Some shots from the second IAT held at RAF Fairford (also my second IAT). From looking at the pictures the weather was pretty variable. Hopefully the subjects make up for that.

Hi Tony :P

Great shots there

The Lightning display, as I recall, really pushed the moisture out of a seriously damp atmosphere, and the French Crusader did the same :Wow:

Thanks for posting :thumb:

Great variety, the -104 pilot is certainly keeping the nose high on roll out.

Fantastic set. Interesting to see a Mowhawk (almost) in the air !
Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?

Missed these Tony - nice post and remember it well - took a week to dry out after the weather.

Spent one of the days in a packed Marquee in the FIAT enclosure

Thanks for posting

Thanks Darren,

Yes I was in the marquee too. The camera box certainly came in handy in those days, none of this fancy flooring, tables & chairs of today!

Some great shots there, esp the C-130 formation + Canberras, altho' my fave has to be the v.dirty KC-135 with the the massive carbon footprint trail.
