Good idea that deserves support. It's a yes from me with the 8 examples below. I understand the last one Spitfire ML407, owned by Caroline Grace is a genuine D-Day veteran having flown missions over the beach head with a NZ Sqn. and scored one kill.

Just another few to make a round dozen. I understand the Messenger was Monty's personal transport.

Michael, The Messenger is actually G-AIEK and carries false marks representing Field Marshal Montgomery's personal "taxi". The real RG333 was written off in 1945 after engine failure in Germany.

Nice idea, another quick browse through the Flickr archive. Thank heavens for the tagging!

849 sqn Sea King AEW at Yeovilton air day, also 1994. Was there any nice weather in 1994?? If so, looks like I missed it completely!

As I dont think any of the Horsa gliders have stripes I put this one in as it was the first aircraft to land on D-Day on French soil. Ni

Thanks Darren saw this over on Flickr and you have added it. I love the contrast between the
AB light and the almost monochrome of the rest .
