Meteor WH291

Post by ndfilter » Fri Sep 03, 2010 11:06 am

A couple of contrasting views, 2 pics of it looking decidedly tatty (though not the worst plane there) on 2nd May 2004 and a few on it's last day at the site, 19th August 2010.
Barry Parkhouse is taking it to his yard in Booker where he says he's "going to clean it up". I asked him what had happened to the other planes he'd removed, he said they were at Booker and that he had cleaned them up too.

'Shadow of the Hunter'. I think the wing shadow in the grass is from Danish Hunter E-423

Nice to see someone has finally done something about these poor aircraft at Lasham , I posted some pictures from there a couple of years ago and they were in a sorry state then. What aircraft have been salvaged so far and are the rest going to be ? Thanks for posting.

I don't know. I think I might pop along to Booker and see what I can find out. I'll let you know.

By coincidence came across this today - WH291 in happier times, at Finningley, September 1973
