I popped into County Hall, Norwich on Friday to see this whilst on an extensive tour of east Norfolk airfields

fortunately a security man was around to help us find it!

Nice to see Local Government actively engaging in a/c preservation. I think this was previously displayed on the Coltishall gate.

It's looks to be in good shape for a preserved aircraft. Kudos to them

It is indeed the former Coltishall guard. Several links found but this one gives a fairly good coverage including the relocation and closure of Coltishall:

Rumour has it that the Council want to replace it with a Tornado!

Why not have both... looks to be enough grassed area for them... they would look very nice side by side in the same pose with one just slightly nose ahead of the other.

Great pic by the way... saw her many times on Colts gate when visiting.

Paddyboy....I feel your pain... always was my favourite RAF Station.

And prior to Colt it was the gate guard at Bruggen, in a pretty striking pose.
