Hats off to you paddyboy & BMrider for posting the most dramatic Nimrod images that I've ever seen. Don't know how I missed these low passes given that I was an Air Fete regular altho' I have to admit not having been a Nimrod afficionado. I was probably focusing on some obscure foreign type in the static at the time. That was the trouble with Air Fete back in the day. You really needed both days to do justice to the Static and the flying displays.

Hi Paddyboy :P
What a great set of images, I used to love watching the Nimrod display.
All the best

As this Mighty Hunter thread is proving so popular I've unearthed some negs of a complete display sequence taken @ Elvington in '96 incl. the traditional flare discharging finale. Thanks to Nighthawke for his intel re - the year of that impressive Mildenhall display I can reveal that it was a 42 Sqn. a/c from St.Mawgan piloted by F/L Mark Seymour who on that evidence gets my nomination for the best Nimrod display.

Nothing to apologise for PB - I loved every display she did and your pics certainly do the routines justice! They were definitely not afraid of chucking them around were they! Thanks for posting.

Nimrod displays were always show stoppers. Thanks for the memories.

Another interesting set

I particularly like the penultimate shot of what looks like a very low pass at Mildenhall
