A brilliant set, well copied and it all seems such an age... :thumb:

Fighter Meet was a great show which became one of the cornerstones of the display season. For some reason I missed this particular one which seems a shame given the number of fast jets featured. G-BLSW looks interesting. Obviously a rare bird. Am I right in thinking it's a Packet?

What a fantastic set of photos there, such a variety of great aircraft as well, not sure if I went to this one I will have to have a look.

Hi, F.3. Yes, a C119 Packet. I have no idea why it is wearing a British reg. Used to watch them in and out of Bovingdon when I was a lad.

The C-119 started life as 51-2700 USAF, then CP-9 Belgian AF, 3C-ABA, G-BLSW, N2700 then scrapped.
It spent several years at Manston as 3C-ABA. I posted several pics on our sister civilian site -

Thanks everyone for your appreciation.
Pete.

Wonderful set particularly like the Hunter T 7 I think with 12 sq marks I think they were used as surrogate Buccaneer trainers .

I was there.Bumbed into an ex 92 Sqd nav mate of mine who'd arrived in one of the Hawks. Remember Blakey commentating and when MH434 taxied out in its High Altitude scheme he said it was still in primer and not finished. Muppet.
Thanks for sharing.

I've often heard them referred to as Packets, but strictly speaking wasn't the C-119 actually the Flying Boxcar? The Packet was its predecessor, the C-82.

Thanks for the info. A very rare bird whichever. That was one of the few FMs I missed and I now have cause to regret doing so as it would appear to have been a classic judging from this post.

Some real rarities and classics in this post, the C-119 and Skyraiders for me.
Cheers.
