Lurking within the programme of this event I discovered the negs of the pics I had taken which I've scanned for your delectation. (Sorry - just been rapping and my mind seems stuck in the rhyming groove). This was the first such event staged since '81 and preceded the well known International Air Shows. A bit low - key by comparison it nevertheless offered a respectable Static featuring French and Belgian jets along with historic residents such as the Falklands Vulcan and retired F-4J as well as the new E-3D Sentries. I believe this may have been staged as a rehearsal for the International Air Shows as the decision had already been taken to close Finningley and an alternative venue was required.

£2! Add a zero to that now, nearly! Very nice shots. Love the Hardy prog covers from the 80's and 90's.

Yes. I think they could be quite collectable in a few years due to their excellent artwork. Today's are no different from mags which is not surprising considering they're published by the same people. In my opinion they have more impact than today's rather minimalist covers.

It was a good day out back then, the fairground was a bit OTT, spoiling some of my own shots with-it as a backdrop. Check the new Coningsby thread out Mick , one of your
missing F3s is in there somewhere...CI ZG728, you never know he might send you over a copy... :thumb:

Good grief , I remember this. Only got a few pics of this show. Nice relaxed sort of day and I got in for nothing as the guard on the main gate waved me through saying 'nice motorbike mate'!
