Tri-star

Post by jaybee » Fri Sep 14, 2018 10:55 am

Just the one , copied this week from my home made device. Any millionaires out there want to buy the copyright on my home made device?

Nice one John. Dragons Den perhaps? That Deborah Meaden's usually up for it - or so I'm told!

Is that photo from a 35mm slide or a print? If the former, then I must construct my own "home made device"!

Great quality what ever it is, better than some "branded" scanners.
Cheers.

Thanks F3,TM74sqn., &Punkrunner62...Both these images were copied from 35mm slides. I'm trying now to see how you can photograph colour negatives and then convert it into
a colour image, using a DSLR as the copier!!any ideas... :thumb:

Very nice JB - love the shot of the F-5 - only visited that a couple of weeks ago - it now looks as if it could do with some TLC

Side / neg scanners are not that expensive now if you have a load to do - mine is a 2003 model and get some ok results from it - let me know if you want some pointers.

Mr W also has a decent one - kidnap him as he walks by...............!

Cheers Darren...I am now looking how to convert colour negatives after copying , by a DSLR.I would like to know once the copied colour negative is placed
in my documents, how I might go about converting it into a full colour picture from there...I know it might be on some photo shop system somewhere..

If you take an image of the negative using the DSLR then when you have the resulting image up on photoshop, do 'Control I' (for invert) it should reverse it in to a colour positive. You will then need to do a bit of colour correction as the image will likely have a cast on it. Note - you cannot do a similar thing if you are using Lightroom but instead you can 'reverse' the 'curves' chart by taking the top and bottom point of the diagonal line and move it to the opposite side of the chart.

Hope this helps.

Mark...Many thanks mate for taking the time to pass that on. Someone else pointed out to me about MSpaint shop and doing the invert thing on that also. Thank-you , it was very helpful... :thumb:
