A nice variety at RAF Alconbury 4th September 1986.

You never knew what to expect, but even without visitors the TR-1s, F-5s and Phantoms were usually fairly active with missions morning and afternoon. Happy memories of parking up and trekking around the edge of the field with camera bag, sandwiches and the essential stepladder.

What a great base Alconbury was, I remember many visitors and deployments during the eighties. Many thanks for jogging the old memory banks.

Historic set depicting the daily operation of an iconic base. Fond memories of the Air Tattoos. Strange how I always get a distinct whiff of burgers when motoring past on the A1. Ghosts of airshows past?

Great memories of occaisionally sitting down at owl end mid week or driving around the back to get the BT eagles on a Saturday morning (usually without a camera grrrr) then heading off to Lakenheath and Mildenhall

That TF-104G looks brilliant
