'BH' tailcode = 106th TRS/117th TRW (latterly 106th RS/117th RW), Birmingham Municipal Airport, Alabama.Punkrunner62 wrote:Possibly Alabama ANG RF-4C from Birmingham Alabama.I may be wrong.
Re: Phantoms in the UK
The BH was a deployment to Alconbury with a C-22 as well.

What I wouldn't give to see one of these doing a top side pass along the crowd line in full re-heat .
Great memories of these wonderful machines .

And there's plenty more where that came from!
Re: Phantoms in the UK
Great photos of my all time favourite!
The "LN" F4 is not a 48TFW aircraft, but an F4C decoy ex Michigan ANG, if I remember rightly.
One of them is now in the heritage park on base.
I've not seen a photo of one in camo before, the LN code is in the wrong place and the F4Ds never had black codes and markings.
I think they arrived after the F111s had taken over?
Thanks for posting these, Stig.

F-4C 63-7471 (ex 113 TFS / IA ANG) was noted by me between 1986 and 1991 for Battle Damage Repair Training (BDRT). Reportedly scrapped at some point.
F-4C 63-7419 is the one preserved at Lakenheath
