F5 Alconbury

F5 at Alconbury, not sure of the year and the scan ain't that good...worth a squint though!!

Wow - that takes me back. It was always nice to see the F-5s in the varied camou schemes. Thanks for posting.

If hangar 48 was one of a pair next to the B1043 you could be right. The 527th used the same parking area which was vacated by the 30thTRS on the East side of the base. I think the photo was taken looking North West from the lane which led down to the mobile radar shack - that would place one of those hangars in the background.

They did have some smart looking F-5E at Alconbury. Reminds me of trips up on a Saturday morning to get the BT Eagles that were often parked around the back. Can't recall what decade that was either.
