Not exactly the best of pictures, scanned from poorly stored slides. No work on them but for a little chopping.

I'd rather have fuzzy Lightnings than pin-sharp Typhoons any day

Re the F-104. On 9/8/77 emergency landing at 230 knots after severe engine vibration on climb out. Pilot Hptm Fritz Thomsen OK. I think the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

According to ASN:
9-8-77

Strong vibrations during climb-out caused by dumper failure; landed long and overshoot the barrier with 230 kts during emergency landing; Hptm Fritz Thomsen unhurt.

Seems this was on arrival for the airshow a day or two later. Found an image of it jacked up for the event.

Hope of use.

Correction to the earlier pic of Hastings. It may be at Chivenor rather than Leuchars.

Here's a few more:

Well thats a pleasant surprise, I used to walk past this Lady every day in the late 70s but she'd had a camouflage coat to wear by that time - thanks for posting this, nice to see her again :thumb:

Yes Chris they usually did.
Whilst I like the Drakens, its the Danish F-100s I fondly remember.
Despite not being able to afford a camera,Lossie was the place to be in the sixties!

Lovely stuff , thanks for posting . Reminds me of my youth , but down at Colt . 'Tho the Lanc is great ; I was on Shuttle Standby at GLA . The frontline service had gone , not full up ; so we were not required to operate a back up a/c . Thus was able to watch the Lanc come in from Canada , and have a walk around ....... No camera with me !

Now on the divisive subject of watermarks ..... On most of the shots you Sir , have the most delicate and in keeping watermark possible .......Just above centre , but it does move around is a perfect silhouette of another aviator ... To me looks like a Woody ...pigeon , or is it a Raptor stooping ?
What do others think ? ... imagination only , 'cos I know there will be technical explanations ! Hat , coat , door ....

One of life's mysteries.
I thought it was something on the copier's screen but it re-appeared after cleaning the screen with the tool provided. Its on some but not others.
Anyone suggest a way to get rid of the debris stuck to the slides?

Thanks Paddyboy.
I've got Jaguars for you but am still trying out methods of cleaning the slides without making them worse,so you'll have to be patient!

Thanks for comments.
Been insanely busy at work so haven't the energy to resume the cleaning activities but will do so soon.
As an aside, isn't amazing how you remember pictures as being brilliant but after you scan them you realise how bad they really were!
