Hi F102A in the picture of XM144 at Leuchars what is being constructed in the background? Thought at first it was something for the Airshow.......

Lovely stuff, you can't beat Lightnings.
I always look forward to your photo threads.
When people post slightly fuzzy print shots from the 80's it's welcome as it is a historical record and reminds me of my early photography. Pin sharp kodachrome, scanned to perfection, takes things to another level entirely. These look like they could have been yesterday. The nearest thing we have to a time machine!

Very nice selection  From school holidays on push bike to eventually 4 wheels can't imagine how many hours were spent on the approach and at the crash gates for the excellent views of beloved Lightnings. Got through enough K64/K25 at the time there with a wardrobe full of little yellow boxes - look after them well and they stay as fresh as the day they were taken. Can't say the same for Binbrook - even too sad to visit now so never venture that way.
Thanks very much for posting very happy memories
