good to see the mix of squadron badges and the glorious cammo make the most of now these boys arenot too long away from vanishing too that will be a sad loss to us spotters long live the tonado gr :( :(

ZA598 at Culdrose Air Day, cannot believe I did not realise that I had see this aircraft at Newquay earlier in the month as well!

Thanks for this Folks, loving the nostalgia. Being very sad I sat down with my navigator's log book last night and discovered that I have flown in 122 of the aircraft listed in the original post, although that includes ZA565 which seems to be missing. During the course at Cottesmore I also flew in 2 Italian and 8 German jets.

132 different GR1/1As, I had no idea.

That's a very impressive amount of different aircraft Wiz. :Wow:

The serial ZA565 was never allocated, the ZA5** Tornados were ZA540-564 and ZA585-614. More info here:- http://www.ukserials.com/

Make that 131 then, spoilsport :)

It only appears once, my third trip at TWCU 14 Jan 1983, I wonder which number I mangled to get that?

I'm not alone, however, if you Google it you can find at least 2 people who think they've got photos of it.

ZG710 At RAF Mildenhall 1990, Tornado GR4A ZG710, which was shot down during Operation TELIC by a US Patriot battery on 22 March 2003.
