Hi everyone

Really enjoying this thread, Boscombe Down is my favourite base and I just love that Raspberry Ripple Scheme, great to see these photos... the picture of the Gnat looks brilliant in this scheme and Brian... wow :Wow: man, im so envious :D that must have been some flight... anyway here are three more from me.

After attending all (R)IAT's in the 1980s and most in 1990s, I have quite a large collection of Raspberry Ripple. Shame that there never was a Mi-17 at Fairford!

When I was on Ascension in the late 80's, we had the Canberra from Bedford based there for a few weeks doing something or other I forget now ( Dust Scatter,Lasers!), but it had two pods on either wing affectionately called "Klingon Buster" and "Proton Torpedo". I do believe it staged via Gib and Cape Verde to get there and back. Somewhere I do have a photo of the a/c.

Though '770 was red white and blue, it was actually named the "regal beagle" as it was used by the Royal Flight for twin conversion and '765 was painted in the old RAE grey/white scheme, only '743 wore the full on ripple scheme.
