Great set, nice to see the rare shots of the Lakenheath F-4s, but what about those Woodbridge/Bentwaters birds? !! :thumb:

It was on base next to the wing HQ building.
In the mid seventies I was in the R.Neth.AF and it was quite easy for me to get on bases for photographs.

Brilliant. I'm loving the Bentwaters and Lakenheath birds - so many happy memories of being alongside the fence... proper days out.
Remember being at Bentwaters on a 'Maxeval' in July '76 when 86 missions were planned and achieved...
Thanks very much for posting

Hear, hear!!

Especially the "WS" F-4C. A bit before my time visiting there. That one went to Spangdahlem (I believe) before being sent to 182TFS/TX. ANG in 1979.

Those were the days. :'(

An amazing set of photographs.
I've just looked back to find 'part 1' and that was pretty good too. Can't beat these white tail coded USAFE F-4s though!!
Thanks and please post more!

Absolutely brilliant. Love the Bentwaters shots.

Here is a bit of an odd question. What is the red roofed building in the background at Soesterberg? It appears on lots of images and is a sure fire way to identify that base.

The red roofed building in is a big house. The last few years of the base it was almost hidden by trees.

Thanks Ton. That house would have been the place to live 1969-78.
