Thanks for a fantastic set of photo`s! I can almost smell the Avtur & the hot brakes! XT870 was the last a/c to be catapulted off the Ark! I was lucky to spend 24 years on Phantom development & repair. Modded a few of these. esp. 412 & 574, happy days.

A phantastic set, every one superb, but for me number one takes the biscuit. The aircraft against the dark cloud is an iconic shot. Congrats!

Great update Stuart - great shots of the USAFE Phantoms! Can remember sitting in my Grandfathers back garden just outside Mannheim in 1987 drinking a beer in the sun - heard a roar - looked up to see 2 smokey F-4s coming across the blue sky weaving side to side, the SP tail codes visible as they went by low and close - great memories!
