One of 33 B-29's seen at China Lake in 1974. I understand that a few years later one was flown out of their and preserved in a flying state.

Did you see any of the former RAF Washingtons? I believe there were still a couple surviving at the time of your visit...

Nice pics from China Lake.They all look strangely like the ones on the Chinalakealumni.org website.Are you Peter Foster?

Great stuff :thumb: In fact they flew 3 out of there including "Hawg Wild " at Duxford..which flew across the Atlantic arriving on 3rd March 1980.It was due to do a flyby at Heathrow where I was working in BA ops at the time but due to I think a heater malfuntion it went straight to Duxford

No but I was probably standing next to him when mine was taken - we were on the trip together!
