The 20CRS Engine Test Cell – shot of the cooling ring. Once the engine was removed from the plane it was anchoured and fired into full burner. A good picture of this can be seen in the Upper Heyford ‘Superbase’ book by Jon Davidson, page 81

The ‘Hush House’ across the way from the engine test bed building. Engines were tested in here without being removed from the plane.
